Plaster

Curing - Cure the wall for 7 days and keep the cement wet for 15 days. This helps to improve the strength of concrete. This eliminates the chance of cracks and shrinkage.

Painting

Sustainable - Use of eco paints for the walls (use paints that are plant or water-based other than chemicals)

Different Types of House Paint
-------------------------------------
Distemper - It’s a  cost-effective house paint commonly used for whitewashing walls in Indian homes. Price for Distemper: From ₹8 per sq ft (www.livspace.com)
Emulsion Paint - It renders a rich effect and provides excellent durability. Subsequently, stains can be easily wiped down with a cloth soaked in detergent solution. Pricing of Emulsion: From ₹12 per sq ft
Enamel Paint - Offering excellent durability and varied glossy effects, enamel is one of the most expensive types of house paints for Indian homes. Moreover, it is stain and water resistant and can be applied on metal and wooden surfaces alike. Price of Enamel Paint: From ₹80 per sq ft

House Paint Finishes
----------------------
Matte Finish- Perfect for hiding imperfections on walls and ceilings, this non-reflective finish offers the lowest level of gloss. However, its velvety texture can be difficult to clean and needs regular retouching.
Satin and Eggshell Finish - The silky, soft sheen effect of this finish is somewhere between matte and gloss. It’s quite durable and is often used to beautify bathrooms and kitchens. On the downside, it cannot hide imperfections. However, eggshell is easier to apply than satin but doesn’t offer the same smoothness.
Glossy Finish - This finish is the most reflective of the three and is long-lasting. It can be cleaned multiple times as well. However, to get an even look it needs more than one coat of paint as it highlights flaws.

  1. 1st coat of primer - In an average 6 -24 hours drying time.
  2. 1st coat of putty - 3-4 hrs/ 5 to 10 days
  3. 2nd coat of putty - overnight / 5 to 10 days
  4. Surface sanding - smoothen the dried surface with sandpaper (Emery Paper 180 and wipe clean)

2nd coat of primer - 1 Day drying

1st coat of paint - 1 Day drying

2nd coat of paint - 1 days drying

If acrylic wall putty is being used then a primer coat is recommended before and after application of the putty. In case of cement-based putties or Polymer putty a coat of primer is recommended after application of the putty. The coat of primer helps in binding the putty to the wall.
